Duncan Stewart visits Brackloon NS
We were delighted to welcome Duncan Stewart to Brackloon NS last Thursday, 12 May. Duncan spoke with us on the issue of climate change and what we can and are doing. we informed Duncan of our Cycle Bus and Safe Routes to school project. He told us of an initiative that he is working on with Transport for Ireland (TfI) which would ensure a 2km slow down zone around every school in Ireland in the future.
Then the children in sixth class showed Duncan their Minecraft project depicting the town of Westport in the future as a more sustainable and environmentally conscious place to live. He was very impressed with the level of detail in the project. We finished our time with Duncan discussing how and what we would like to see change in the future to protect and care for our planet.
